IIT Kanpur JAM 2025- Important Dates

The candidates can log in to a student portal login on the official website with a given username and password oag.iitk.ac.in/studiitk/. The candidate must enter the username and password to proceed with the next step. The IIT Kanpur log-in portal consists of the admission status, examination cell, academic details, placement details, and many other details.

Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur offers B.Tech and B.S at UG level while M. Tech, MS, M.Sc, M.Des and MBA are offered at PG level. Candidates satisfying the IIT Kanpur selection criteria can fill out the application form. Details of the IIT Kanpur admissions process are given below.

• The candidates must meet the IIT Kanpur UG eligibility criteria.

• The candidate must appear and qualify JEE Mains and JEE  Advanced examinations.

• After the declaration of the results, if the candidate meets the cutoff then he/she can register for the JoSAA counselling.

• Then, the candidate must select IIT Kanpur as the preferred college and preference courses must also be filled.

• Then seats will be allotted to the candidates based on their performance in the entrance examination.

• The provisional admission will be confirmed once the candidate submits the documents for verification and pays IIT Kanpur fees.

The institute offers M.Tech, M.S., M.Des, M.Sc, and M.B.A. at the postgraduate level.  The duration of the PG course lasts for 2 years.

IIT Kanpur Admission Process: M.Tech and M.S

• The candidates must meet the IIT Kanpur PG eligibility criteria.

• The candidate has to apply and qualify for the GATE examination. 

• If the candidate meets the GATE cutoff then the candidate should register for counselling conducted by COAP.

• Then the candidate must select IIT Kanpur as the preferred institute.

• Some of the candidates can also be called for written tests and interviews.

• For the candidates with M.B.B.S. degrees as well as for the B.Tech. graduates from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B.Tech are exempted from GATE. 

• Then seat allocation will be done based on the performance of the candidate in the entrance examination.

• Finally, the candidates must submit the documents for verification and pay IITK fees. 

IIT Kanpur M.Des Admission Process

• The candidates must meet the IIT Kanpur M.Des eligibility criteria.

• The candidate has to apply and qualify for the CEED examination. 

• If the candidate meets the CEED Cutoff then the candidate can apply for the counselling process.

• Then the candidate must select IIT Kanpur as the preferred institute.

• Some of the candidates can also be called for written tests and interviews.
