72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy(Ph.D.) program in Microbiology shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by the University of Madras, Chennai.
Eligibility Criteria
The Candidates having a Master's degree (M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Pharm) from a recognized university (securing not less than 60% marks for general category candidates and not less than 55% for SC/ST/PWD (Person with Disability) candidates in all major examinations from higher secondary (10 + 2) onwards or equivalent in CGPA) in any branch of Biological Sciences and a valid fellowship such as CSIR-UGC (NET) JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF alone can apply.
Admission Details
The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their applications, and these shortlisted candidates will be selected based on a personal interview.
