Established in 1949, Birsa Institute of Technology Sindri, Dhanbad is a prominent government technical college in India, comprising ten academic departments. The establishment of BIT Sindri was initiated by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the former President of India.

BIT Sindri Admission
BIT Sindri, Dhanbad offers admissions at the undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, with B.Tech and M.Tech being the courses available. BIT Sindri UG admissions are granted based on the marks obtained in the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) followed by participation in the counselling process.
The BIT Sindri lateral entry admissions to diploma holders in engineering and technology are made in the 3rd semester through a competitive examination conducted separately for them. For BIT Sindri PG admissions, candidates must possess a valid score on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and pass a written test and interview conducted by BIT Sindri. The number of seats through lateral entry in all branches is 10% of the normal seats.

College Infrastructure
Well tbh the college infrastructure is not so good as most of the buildings are too old. Also the hostel facilities are kinda bad in my opinion as every room has 4/5 students which is kinda messy as u won't get privacy. However one thing which is appreciable is that college campus is huge and have greenery throughout which gives u a good sight.
Overall I will definitely suggest you this college.
College Infrastructure
Our college provides us state of the art infrastructure although it has been established in the year 1949 with 75 years of legacy but the infrastructure are quiet renovated and new hostels are being created inside our campus. Although I didn't count the number of hostels but there is more than 35 boys and girls hostel inside our campus for BTech, Mtech and Phd students.

Based on past year's trends, I think you need to be at least in the 93 percentile to get into ECE, ME, or EE, or maybe Mining or Metallurgical, to get admission in BIT Sindri. You roughly need ranking under 80,000 in JEE Mains for admission in this college.

For B.Tech degree in BIT, you have to appear for state's own entrance test, JCECE conducted by Govt. of Jharkhanad.
For M.Tec, you have to appear for GATE exam.

The eligibility criteria of jee mains are as follows -
- Candidates should pass from any recognised board or University in their class 12th.
- Candidates should opt for physics chemistry and mathematics as mandatory subjects.
- Candidates should secure a minimum of 75 percentage in their class 12th.
But you can sit for jee mains and try to get a good percentile so that you can get a good branch in BIT Sindri.
