Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai has the Career Guidance and Placement Cell (CGPC) which conducts placement activities for the students on the campus. TISS Mumbai placement cell invites different companies of various sectors to their campus to participate in the TISS Mumbai placement drive. TISS Mumbai placement process of the company is conducted in online or offline mode depending on the preference of the recruiters.
TISS Mumbai placement cell also provides internships to the students so that they get practical learning and get exposure to the corporate world. Candidates selected in the TISS Mumbai placement process will have to join the company on the date mentioned in the offer letter. TISS Mumbai median salary offered stood at Rs 5.22 Lakhs and Rs 6.50 Lakhs respectively for 1 year and 2 year PG programmes respectively. As per the NIRF 2024 data, only PG students received placement offers in TISS Mumbai placements 2023.

- The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the TISS Mumbai invites the companies for the pre-placement talk so that the students can clear their doubts regarding the company and the job profile.
- The placement cell shares the resumes of the interested students with the company.
- The placement cell then gives a time and date of the placement process to the company.
- The company then conducts the placement process which includes preliminary tests, group discussions, case studies and interviews.
- The company shares the names of the students selected in the placement process with the TISS Mumbai placement cell.
- Students selected are given an offer letter by the company including the joining details.
- Students selected have to join the company on the date given in the offer letter.

70% of the students got internships at different companies. I got into Cybertech Akola. I have no idea about placements. In our class, there are 30 students, which is the strength of the course. Faculty members are still trying to get companies for the students.

Candidates must have completed a Science stream graduation from a recognized institute, which can include fields such as Science, Engineering, B. Arch, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Geology, etc. A minimum aggregate score of 55% is required in the qualifying graduation exam.
