Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Biotechnology is a four-year (8 Semesters) full-time undergraduate program offered at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore. The course is approved by AICTE.

Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program with life sciences, chemical engineering and bioprocesses. The students are educated with the industrial processes which evolve into bioproducts using chemical engineering tools to design process equipment's and optimize for effective production. The curriculum explains the use of living cells in bioprocesses along with their biochemical properties to be engineered in life sciences papers.

Eligibility Criteria

A Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship.(Any of the three)Obtained at least 50% in the above subjects taken together.
OR
Passed min. 3 years Diploma examination with at least 50% marks subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

Admission Details

The Admission for all UG Courses of Engineering is considered based on merit. The Candidates will be admitted to each program based on Karunya Entrance Examination (KEE) only for B.TECH./B.Sc. Agriculture and Higher Secondary Score.

Most colleges have modern classrooms that are equipped with the latest technology, such as smart boards, projectors, and computers. These classrooms are designed to be conducive to learning and to provide students with the resources they need to succeed.

College Infrastructure

In my college , the infrastructure is very excellent. I got impressed for the infrastructure and the classrooms are very environmentally suitable . I love very well . All the facilities are available in labs ,classrooms and canteen . Daily they used to clean classrooms and roads in college and they maintained as well . All are purely hygienic and very clean .
