Malda Medical College and Hospital was established in the year 2011 and is one of the prime medical colleges in Malda. This co-educational college, affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, is making vigorous growth in medical education since its inception. The college has an affiliation from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and an array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs under several medical disciplines. With a faculty of 18-strong and a total student enrolment of 500, facilities at Malda Medical College and Hospital are geared towards the maximum professional development for the health care providers of the future. 

Some of the facilities in the college include a fully equipped library for effective knowledge by helping students access various materials on literature and findings in the field of medicine. The campus provides the infrastructure for a well-equipped, modern laboratory to support experiment learning through practical training. Sports facilities exist on-campus to ensure students' physical fitness and to help instill balanced living. Malda Medical College and Hospital has four different courses in it across the three-degree programs to study different parts of medical education. 

Admission Criteria in Malda Medical College and Hospital  Admission in the MBBS course is based on national eligibility cum merit through an entrance test called the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG. This is a national-level competitive test that would definitely permit the admission of only the most meritorious student into the program.
