The College of Applied Science, Payyappady admitted in the year 1995 is an acknowledged affiliated college situates at Puthuppally in Kottayam district of Kerala. Located on 7.5 acres of land, it provides a clear niche of undergraduate and post graduate degrees in Computer Science & Electronics. The college offers the necessary positive atmosphere with a total enrollment of 276 students and 18 faculty members. This institution boasts of four full time programmes that have two being Bachelors and the other two being Masters’ degree programmes to train students in technology and electronics.

Accompanying the college is a list of amenities that were put into function with a purpose to help student’s increase their capabilities. An equipped library centre is an important organisational resource that allows students get acquainted with a great amount of literature. The major concentration of the institution is on the use of technology as is evidenced by the well-developed IT facilities that keep the students informed of the trends in the relevant fields of study. In more practical learning, the college provides departmental laboratories wherein learners can practice theories in simulated context. It also has an auditorium for occasions such as events and seminars making the campus a lively learning institution . The College of Applied Science, Payyappady currently teaches four courses and all are full time. These include two undergraduate courses: Four professional courses consists of, B.Sc Electronics and B.Sc Computer Science with 40 students intake each and two postgraduate departments M.Sc Electronics and M.Sc Computer Science those having 30 students intake each. This has increased the total student completion to 140 for all categories of programmes offered in the institution. The mentioned disciplines give an opportunity to provide highly specialised education in known technological specialisations of a college.
