BIMS Belgaum is a newly established autonomous medical college located in Belgaum, Karnataka established in 2005. This government approved institute is an affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences; it provides numerous medical courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. BIMS Belgaum has a large and spaced-out campus of 33.25 acres to its name, which confirms the fact that the total number of students in the institute is 553 and 91 are faculties. The institute promotes extensive learning providing 25 courses in 5 degree programmes in Medical field with different specialisations.

BIMS Belgaum graced with a multitude myriad of ultra-modern amenities to fuel its academic activities. It has got well equipped laboratories for practical session and necessary research. A contemporary LM is a source of information and knows virtually everything that has been written about medicine and related sciences. To facilitate the individual and group upliftment, BIMS Belgaum has provided sports and gymnasium. The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls to make outstation students living comfortably. A cafeteria is provided to prepare food for the students as well as the staff and in an auditorium, academic and cultural programmes are held. The institute also has a health centre for overall student care especially in cases of emergency.

For admission to MBBS programme this there is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG). Admission to postgraduate courses of MD and MS are conducted with NEET PG Entrance Exam. The institute follows admission schedule based on national level entrance examination. BIMS Belgaum being a Private College isn’t just affiliated but recognised by National Medical Commission (NMC) and Indian Nursing Council (INC) that means they follow certain sterility and really good educational standards. Even though the details of the scholarship for the particular course are lacking, the institute which is a government body provides different financial assistance for the students.
