Bejoy Narayan Mahavidyalaya Hooghly was established in the year 1950. The college currently offers certificate and undergraduate level courses to students in Arts and Science streams. These UG courses include BA (Hons.), B.Sc (Hons.), B.Sc and BA. Admission to all these courses at Bejoy Narayan Mahavidyalaya is based on merit. 

BNM Hooghly is affiliated with University of Burdwan. The college is Government sponsored and has been accredited by the NAAC. Bejoy Narayan Mahavidyalaya Hooghly has a Career Counselling and Placement Cell which manages all the placement related activities. According to the NIRF Report 2025, 18 UG programme students got placed with the median package of Rs. 2.50 LPA.
