It was established in the year 1942 by the people ardently concerned to spread education among the numerous inhabitants of the then grasing country. It is located in West Bengal, India. The college is spread over a sprawling 22.2-acre campus and is an affiliated one. The college provides a range of academic programmes with a student body of 3,827. The college has 57 faculty members who are committed teachers and offers 27 courses across 6 degree programmes.

The college is well fortified with infrastructure and has been constantly updated in all respect to provide one of the best learning environments to the students.
